Modern art galleries housed either side of the Serpentine bridge in the middle of Hyde Park/

Serpentine South is in a charming 1930s former tea room and is the slightly larger of the two, with toilets and a shop. It still isn’t huge - just a couple of rooms really.

Serpentine North is housed in a former gunpowder magazine and the exhibition space is smaller. It does however have a swanky looking brunch restaurant stuck onto the side of it that was fully booked when I foolishly attempted to get a table on a Saturday.

Every summer the gallery puts on an artist built pavilion in front of Serpentine South, which certainly stands out amidst the otherwise quite staid classical architecture of Hyde Park.
